        Repossession News

        "Taking It Back"
Police firearm missing from Repo Office
Boone County Missouri sheriff's deputies today continued
investigating the theft earlier this week of vehicles and handguns from
        a property repossession service.

The break-in was discovered at about 7:25 a.m. Tuesday at American
Lenders Service Co., 8378 I-70 Drive S.E., Sgt. Lance Robbins said today
        in a news release.

Property reported stolen included a .357-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun
that bore the stamp of the Columbia Police Department. The department
stopped using that model of handgun several years ago.

Three other handguns were reported stolen: a .357-caliber Rossi, a 9 mm
Ruger and a 9 mm Daewoo.

Chief Deputy Tom Reddin of the sheriff's department said the handguns
had been in a locked cabinet inside an office at the building.
Other property reported stolen included a red 2000 Chevrolet Blazer
with license plate 784-LTH, a black and red 2004 Yamaha Raptor
        motorcycle, a yellow Suzuki CTZ400 all-terrain vehicle, a yellow 2004
Suzuki RM250 dirt bike and a black 6-by-8-foot single-axle trailer.
Reddin said it would be reasonable to assume that the trailer was used
to haul away some of the stolen property. Anyone with information can
contact the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
